E-scape from Reality: Asheville
Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting Asheville, North Carolina with a couple of friends. Two highlights from this trip include visiting the Biltmore (wow!) and a food tour through downtown (delicious!).
Despite our Biltmore visit falling on a rainy day, we still had an enjoyable experience. First, we walked through some of the gardens with our umbrellas in tow. The gardens are so interesting with the vast array of plants and flowers on display. I am the furthest thing from a “green thumb” but can certainly appreciate the attention and care that goes into maintaining them.
The house itself is quite grand to see in person. Any opportunity to witness interesting architecture is a thrill. Once the rain finally stopped it was time to go inside (now didn’t that time out perfectly?). The self-guided audio tour of the house was great. As much as was included on the tour, I can only imagine how much more of the house we didn’t get to see. Highly recommend a visit to the Biltmore if you find yourself in Asheville. It’s a wonderful way to spend a day!
Another neat venture we did was a walking food tour through downtown Asheville. We went on Eating Asheville’s “The Classic” tour. Our guide Lindsay was incredibly knowledgeable and led an enjoyable tour with multiple stops. Check it out!
